Dr. Jabbari celebrates with Komen, Atkins in the elimination of cancer treatment limits Dr. Jabbari was invited to speak at an event that was hosted by State Senator Toni Atkins and Komen San Diego on July 12, 2018. The event highlighted the elimination of breast and cervical cancer treatment limits for low-income California residents thanks to new funding in the state budget. Dr. Jabbari invited to participate as a select member of ARS and ACR Dr. Jabbari has been invited to participate as a select member of The American Radium Society (ARS) / American College of Radiology (ACR) Appropriateness Criteria Brain Committee. This is the authoritative international body for the formulation of expert evidence-based guidelines for the treatment of brain tumors and will guide appropriate diagnostic and treatment recommendations for the international medical, health policy, and insurance payer communities.
XRO to lecture again at the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists Dr. Jabbari has again been invited by the organizers of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiology and Radiation Oncology (RANZCR) as a speaker for their annual international meeting. This year, they have asked that we educate their physicians on the new treatment modality of Tumor Treatment Fields for aggressive brain cancers. This is the only effective new treatment for this difficult cancer since chemotherapy was introduced over 12 years ago, is not yet available in Australia, New Zealand, or the majority of East Asia. As a pioneering brain tumor program in this field, the Laurel Amtower team and Dr. Jabbari have been invited to lecture their physicians for the first time on this new technique.

The objectives of the meeting is to assist in the pipeline to address the unmet needs in brain cancer, value and quality initiatives, patient flow between academic and community centers, and adopting policies to better manage treatment-related side effects.

A 5-K To Raise Money For Brain Tumor Research Grand Rounds at Cedar Sinai Medical Center– January 19, 2017 Dr. Jabbari and XRO have been invited to hold Expert Speaker Grand Rounds on the Radiosurgery of the Spine at Cedar Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. The John Wayne Cancer Institute has invited Dr. Jabbari and XRO to give Grand Rounds on the new field of spine radiosurgery. This is an advanced and highly effective radiation technique for the treatment of difficult spine tumors, and not yet available at most institutions. Thanks to XRO's expertise, spine radiosurgery has been refined and available to our patients and referring physicians for the past several years. The Grand Rounds at John Wayne Cancer Institute is based on our recent academic publication on Spine Radiosurgery in the Cancer Journal, and will parallel Dr. Jabbari’s upcoming lecture at The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists' 2016 Annual Scientific Meeting. Dr. Jabbari has been asked to hold “Global Grand Rounds” on 9/29/16 for an international audience of primary care and subspecialty cardiac specialists on the topic of advanced imaging and therapy in oncology. This is an important potential issue for patients requiring implantation of a cardiac device who have a subsequent cancer or other condition requiring MRI scans and/or advanced cancer therapy. XRO has co-authored a new publication in press in The Cancer Journal on the complex and fast-advancing field of optimally treating cancers affecting the spine. This is a very common, difficult, and often debilitating condition affecting many thousands of cancer patients each year, with optimal care requiring highly sub-specialized expertise. Dr. Jabbari will attend this summit on behalf of XRO and the Amtower institute.
